G.G.S. Khalsa College Kamalpura is situated on prestigious Guru Gobind Singh Marg which is also called Raikot-Jagraon Road. It is equally distanced i.e. 12 kms. from Raikot and Jagraon. Different modes of transport are available to reach the college. Kamalpura is a blessed village as it is believed that the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh visited it. Two of holy historical Gurudwara’s are nearby to the college campus. One is Gurudwara Tahliana Sahib sitated at Raikot and another one is Gurudwara Mehdeana Sahib situated 10 km. away from here. Another historical Gurudwara of 10th Guru is Kahi Sahib situated at Village Lamme-Jattpura. This college is catering students of almost 85 nearby villages with an objective to educate girls of rural areas. A tournament is also held every year which is considered one of the best amongst all the tournaments of rural Punjab. To top of all, several NRI’s contributed to establish Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College for Women which became functional from 1996. The main motivational soul behind the project is Bibi Pritam Kaur Hansra, who laid the foundation stone of this college on _______. This college can boost of an ideal educational environment far from the din and pollution of the cities. Apart from B.A. I, II, III, BCA I, II post graduate courses in Punjabi, History, Information Technology are also conducted. All the residents of the village are hereby urged to consider this collge as their own and contribute to it in any way which may suit them. At present there are about 30 classrooms well equipped library, one administrative block, an examination hall, 4 air-conditioned computer labs, one music room, a stationery shop and a canteen. The college provides facilities for Hockey, Badminton, Basketball, Athletes, Kho-Kho, Volleyball etc. Tally Academy, Bangalore also conducts a course in certified computer accountancy every year.
